Fixed Period ARM (adjustable rate mortgage)

With a Fixed-Period ARM, your initial rate and monthly payment is fixed for a period of 3-years, 5-years, or 7-years. The term of the loan is 30 years. How a Fixed Period ARM Works
After your initial fixed period of 3-years, 5-years, or 7-years, your rate becomes an adjustable-rate mortgage (ARM) based on the chosen index plus a set margin. The Fixed Period ARM does have some safeguards, such as periodic interest rate caps, and a lifetime interest rate cap. These interest rate caps limit the amount that your interest rate may increase.
